Command Senior Chief Walter, a native of Detroit, MI, entered active service in the United States Navy in August of 2003. After completion of recruit training, he graduated from Master-at-Arms “A” School and was assigned to Naval Security Forces at Naval Support Activity, Bahrain.
His tours as a Master-at-Arms include protective services at Commander, US Naval Central Command (COMUSNAVCENT), Bahrain where he earned his Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare (IW); Naval Base Kitsap (NBK), Silverdale, WA; Coastal Riverine Group-TWO (CRG-2) Detachment Bahrain where he earned his Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist (EXW); Naval Air Station Sigonella (NASSIG), Sicily, Italy; and Commander Navy Region Japan (CNRJ), Yokosuka, Japan among others.
He was selected to Chief Petty Officer while stationed at NBK and later promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer while stationed at NASSIG. He was selected into the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) program while stationed at CNRJ. He reported to Naval Support Activity Annapolis in July of 2025.
CMDCS Walter’s awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (seven Awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Expert Pistol and Rifle Medals and several other unit and personal decorations.
