Lt. Cmdr. Kenneth Tate

A native of Memphis, Tenn., Lt. Cmdr. Kenneth Tate enlisted in the Navy in May 2000. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Wayland Baptist University and a Master of Arts from the University of Oklahoma.  

As an enlisted Cryptologic Technician (Administrative) and Yeoman, his tours of duty include: Commander, Naval Security Group Command; USS ESSEX (LHD 2); United States Transportation Command (J3) - Defense Courier Division; Joint Area Support Group - (Central), Baghdad, Iraq; and USS CAPE ST. GEORGE (CG 71).

Tate commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer (LDO) program in August 2013 and re-designated as a Human Resources Officer in May 2019.

Upon commissioning, he served as Administrative Officer and Legal Officer at Air Test and Evaluation Squadron NINE (VX 9), and as Administrative Department Head, Legal Officer, Communications Officer, Command Security Manager, First Lieutenant, and Education Services Officer at Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron FIVE ONE (HSM 51).

In July of 2019, he joined the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (N2N6) as a Manpower Planning Officer for the cyber workforce.

He assumed the role of Naval Support Activity Bethesda Executive Officer in June 2021.

Lt. Cmdr. Tate's military awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards), Army Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards and ribbons.
