Command Senior Chief (CMDCS) Wendy Gomez is a native of New York, New York. She graduated from Bayard Rustin High School for the Humanities in 2003 and enlisted in the United States Navy in September 2004. After completing Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Illinois, she attended Seaman Apprentice Training.

She began her first tour of duty aboard USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), where she chose to strike as a Master-at-Arms. Upon selection, she attended Master-at-Arms “A” School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and subsequently reported to Naval Support Activity Bahrain for her next assignment in April 2007.

Her subsequent tours include Navy Recruiting District New York, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), Naval Air Station Oceana, United States Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), Naval Special Warfare Group TWO (NSWG-2), and Naval Station Norfolk Security Detachment.

She was advanced to Chief Petty Officer while at USFFC and promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer while at NSWG-2. She was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) program while at NAVSTA Norfolk and reported to Naval Support Activity Bethesda in October 2025.

She holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Excelsior University, is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 274 Orange), and completed the CMC/COB course (Class 140). Her personal awards include four Navy Commendation Medals, six Navy Achievement Medals, and various unit and campaign awards.
