Commander Brett Lukasik is a native of Allentown, New Jersey, and a 1996 graduate of Rowan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. He received his commission from Officer Candidate School in February 2001 and earned his naval aviation wings in December 2002. He is a 2011 graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College and the Naval War College with a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies as well as a 2016 graduate of The College of William & Mary’s Mason School of Business with an Executive Masters of Business Administration.
Lukasik’s operational assignments include Assistant Operations Officer, Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 112, USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70); Assistant Operations Officer, Command and Control SME, Carrier Air Wing ONE (CVW 1), USS Enterprise (CVN 65) ; Maintenance Officer, Safety Officer, and Administrative Officer, Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 123, USS Enterprise (CVN 65) ; Air Operations Officer, INSURV Program Officer, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) ; USN Liaison, French Maritime Forces/Charles de Gaulle CSG.
Shore assignments include NATOPS officer with VAW-120, E-2 Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS); Student, US Naval War College; Operations Officer, Airborne Command & Control & Logistics Weapons School, in charge of E-2C/D Fleet Tactics training; Student, Defense Language Institute, French.
Lukasik has participated in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Inherent Resolve, Enduring Freedom, and Noble Shield; he has over 1500 flight hours and 250 carrier arrested landings.
In 2023, he became the executive officer of Naval Support Activity Washington (NSAW).
Commander Lukasik’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (two awards), Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various campaign, unit and individual awards.
