LCDR Sare is a native of Rexburg, Idaho and a 2007 graduate of the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Utah State University. He received his commission as an Ensign through Officer Candidate School in 2007.
Sare’s operational tours include officer-in-charge of Detail Forward Operating Base Wilson, Afghanistan, and company commander, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 40; Naval Construction Forces liaison to the Federated States of Micronesia, company commander, and Task Group Commander 56.2/officer-in-charge Detail Bahrain, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1.
His shore assignments include construction manager, Naval Air Station Lemoore, California; intern architect, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast, Jacksonville, Florida; public works liaison, Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay Cuba; executive assistant to the commander Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia; assistant public works officer, Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia; and Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division Director at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
LCDR Sare is a Registered Architect in the state of Idaho, a qualified Seabee Combat Warfare officer, and a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Army Achievement Medal, and the Military Outstanding Service Volunteer Medal as well as other personal and unit awards.
