Welcome to Navy Region Naval District Washington. "The Quarterdeck of the Navy."  With the nation's capital at its heart, Naval District Washington encompasses more than 4,000 square miles, including the District of Columbia; the Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's, and St. Mary's, and northern Virginia counties of Loudoun, Fauquier, Fairfax, Prince William, Stafford King George, Westmoreland, Arlington and the cities within their outer boundaries.

NDW Showcase

BALTIMORE (June 14, 2024) - A U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II fighter aircraft performs a flyover demonstration over Baltimore’s Inner Harbor during Maryland Fleet Week and Flyover Baltimore. This year marks the City of Baltimore's fourth time hosting Navy Fleet Week. Maryland Fleet Week and Flyover Baltimore provides an opportunity for the citizens of Maryland and the City of Baltimore to meet Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen, as well as see firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services. Naval District Washington (NDW) Commandant Rear Adm. Nancy Lacore came to Naval Support Facility (NSF) Dahlgren on March 25, where she toured quality of life facilities, Fire and Emergency Services Dahlgren Company, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Mobile Unit 12. Lacore also presented awards to five Sailors during her visit. Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians Daniel Breault, Zachary Dorfman and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 1st Class Garret Fisher received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for their professionalism and proficiency, as well as for their work safely removing a 14-inch projectile from the ammo tray of the world’s only remaining U.S. naval gun carriage. Lacore also recognized two Naval Support Activity South Potomac (NSASP) Sailors. Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Kevin O’Mally and Fire Controlman 1st Class Nicholaus Cappy received Letters of Commendation for their outstanding performance of duties and selection as the NSASP Junior Sailor of the Quarter, and Sailor of the Quarter.

WASHINGTON (February 08, 2024) -- Fleet and Family Support Center members at Naval Support Activity Washington established an in-person Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC) on the Washington Navy Yard to test their capabilities and effectiveness in responding to an emergency, February 8, 2024. The EFAC is the central point for victim and family assistance services during a natural/man-made disaster or mass casualty.
