Unmanned Aircraft Systems Test Directorate (UASTD) was created to support the research, experimentation, development, and test and evaluation of all Navy/Marine Corps tactical unmanned aircraft systems (TUAS), encompassing a broad range of complexities. Located at Webster Outlying Field in St. Inigoes, MD, UASTD currently supports fixed and rotary wing autonomous/semi-autonomous remotely piloted aircraft, including the MQ-8B Fire Scout Vertical Take-off & Landing UAS (VTUAS) and the RQ-7B Shadow 200 TUAS. Additionally, UASTD operates and maintains two Aerostar UAVs that provide customers a safe and efficient method to test a variety of payloads, and assist other platform flight tests with support to range clearance operations.
