NAS Pax River, Webster Outlying Field, Navy Recreation Center Solomons

**Be prepared to have your ID card scanned. You will need to have your ID card readily available as you approach any gate.**

Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River

Entering NAS Patuxent River can be confusing for first-time visitors. There are three entry gates, all accessible from MD Route 235, also known as Three Notch Road, in Lexington Park. Be prepared to have your ID card scanned by the Sentry at each Entry Control Point.

Pass Office Services - Gate 2

The NAS Pax River Public Safety Pass Office provides various services to Pax River residents, employees and visitors. This office is only open weekdays, excluding holidays, from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Issuance of visitor's passes, weapons registration (see NASPAXRIVINST 5510.16K at www.cnic.navy.mil/patuxent), and scheduling for special events are available during these hours.

Additional parking for Gate 2 Pass Office services is available at the Frank Knox Building; continue south past Great Mills Road and make the next left into the large parking lot. Park and walk around the east side of the building to the Gate 2 Pass office.

NOTE: Please make advance arrangements and expect delays of up to two hours when using the Pass Office.

NAS Gate 1

(Pegg Road/Buse Road and MD Route 235-Three Notch Road)

Gate Hours: Open 24/7

There are two left-hand lanes on southbound MD Route 235 that will guide you into Gate 1. Landmarks to look for are office complexes on both sides of the road and the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum on the left side.

NOTE: If you do not have base access, you will need to continue south on MD Route 235 to Gate 2.

During the morning rush hour commute, 6-9 a.m. weekdays, Gate 1 has three inbound lanes and no outbound lane. The normal inbound/outbound traffic configuration at Gate 1 resumes at 9 a.m.

Truck Inspections: Truck inspections are completed at Gate 1 only. All trucks must enter through Gate 1.

Gate 1 CAC/ID Services: The Gate 1 CAC/ID Office is just inside the fence line prior to Gate 1. The office is open 6 a.m.-2:10 p.m., Monday-Friday and closed on federal holidays.

NAS Gate 2

(Great Mills Road/Cedar Point Road and MD Route 235-Three Notch Road)

Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 6:0 p.m. weekdays, closed weekends and holidays.

Located 3/4 mile south of Gate 1, on the left-hand side of MD Route 235, southbound. Landmarks to look for include offices and businesses on the right side of the road, and the NAS fence line on the left. After passing Shangri-La Drive, there are two lanes to the left entering the base.

If you do not need to stop at the Pass Office, you may enter Gate 2 at this point. If you need services at the Pass Office, you should stay in the right line that turns left.

NAS Gate 3

(Hermanville Road/Forest Park Road and MD Route 235-Three Notch Road)

Hours: 6 a.m. to 9a.m.

Located approximately 2 miles south of Gate 2 on MD Route 235, southbound, 2-3/4 miles south of Gate 1. Turn left at the intersection of Hermanville Road/Forest Park Road.

Pass Office: N/A
There is not a Pass Office located at Gate 3.

 

Navy Recreation Center (NRC) Solomons

Hours: Open 24/7

The main gate to NRC Solomons is located off of the southbound side of MD Route 4.

Pass Office Services: The pass office at NRC is not operational. You can obtain a pass at the NAS Gate 2 Pass Office.

 

Webster Outlying Field (WOLF)

  • Main gate: (Villa Road)
    Hours: Open 24/7

Pass Office Services: The pass office at Webster Field is not operational. You can obtain a pass at the NAS Gate 2 Pass Office.
