The Navy College Office (NCO) aboard NAS Pax River permanently closed its doors Sept. 30, 2016.

The closure is part of a restructuring effort to increase virtual and self-service options to service members. The Navy's Virtual Education Center (VEC) in Dam Neck Virginia is being expanded and will still be available to assist service members with their educational goals. The closure of the NCO's will not affect the Navy's Tuition Assistance (TA) Program. Service members pursuing voluntary education and using the Navy TA program can contact education counselors at the VEC for assistance.

The Navy's Virtual Education Center hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST Monday - Friday and may be reached by calling (877) 838-1659 or DSN 492-4684, or by email at VEC@navy.mil.
