WATER QUALITY

Water Quality management is an important part of the Environmental Programs Office mission.

The office oversees efforts to monitor drinking water to protect the installation population and to manage stormwater impact to help protect the environment, including the Potomac River watershed.

STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

NSA Bethesda's Stormwater Manager Connor Smith explains the purpose of the program here on the installation.

Multiple mechanisms help slow down runoff, and naturally filter out some pollutants to prevent them from reaching the Chesapeake Bay. In the video above, NSA Bethesda's Environment Programs Director Susan Paul describes one of these mechanisms situated outside the USO Warrior and Family Center.
