Drone Lab EA

Environmental Assessment for the Drone Lab at Naval Support Activity Annapolis/ U.S. Naval Academy
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), as implemented by the Council on Environmental Quality Regulations, the Department of the Navy (DoN) has prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate the potential environmental effects associated with the construction of an autonomous outdoor drone lab at Naval Support Activity Annapolis (NSAA).
The DoN is initiating a 35-day public comment period beginning December 19, 2023 and extending through January 22, 2024. Comments submitted during the public comment period, including comments on alternatives, information, and analysis, will become part of the public record and may be included in the Final EA. All comments must be postmarked or received electronically by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on January 22, 2024 for consideration in the Final EA.
Virtual Public Meeting
The Navy will hold a virtual public meeting to receive verbal comments on the Draft EA. The public meeting will be held:
  • Tuesday January 16, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. EST

How to Comment:
The Navy will receive comments on the Draft EA:
  • Verbally during the virtual public meeting. Pre-registration is required for attendance and to provide public comment or questions during the public meeting;
  • Electronically via email:; or
