Mission

PRIMARY. The U. S. Navy Ceremonial Guard is the Navy’s drill center of excellence. Our mission is to represent the Chief of Naval Operations in Presidential, Joint Armed Services, Navy, and other public ceremonies in the national capital region and across the country as directed by higher authority. Additionally, we provide all Navy ceremonial funeral support at Arlington National Cemetery and other private cemeteries in the region as directed by Naval District Washington. To accomplish these missions the command will adheres to a rigorous training and qualification program to maintain a maximum state of ceremonial drill readiness.

SECONDARY. The command prepares its Sailors for success in their follow on fleet assignments through a comprehensive professional development training program, a high level of mentorship, a commitment to physical fitness, and encouraging the pursuit of off-duty education.
